1 December Introducing Kyla Brown December 1, 2023 By Leadership Outfitters General, Shout Out 0 Kyla was FIRST female and YOUNGEST to ever to be selected as the Director/GM for Riverside County. Kyla Brown, CPRE is the General Manager/Parks Director for RivCoParks (Riverside County Regional Park and Open-Space District). Kyla was selected as the Parks Director/General Manager for Riverside County in December 2019 as the FIRST female and YOUNGEST to ever to be selected as the Director/GM. She is also the current President-Elect for the California Park & Recreation Board of Directors. Kyla also led her Leadership Riverside Class of 2022 to bring new life and energy to Downtown Riverside. Her class wanted to support and celebrate the efforts of local artisans by developing an interactive art monument. The project, entitled “Lock in Your Love”, which created a visual and experiential destination between 9th St. and University Ave that draws pedestrian traffic further up the Main Street Mall, includes signage to educate downtown visitors, and support downtown businesses through the purchase of locks. Inspired by “love lock” destinations popular in South Korea to symbolize an unbreakable bond for between couples, love for friends and family, and hope for those who need it, the project will consist of a custom interactive sculpture designed by the local artisans of Alderette Designs, to hold thousands of padlocks. “Lock in Your Love” uses an existing pedestal to create an Instagram-worthy photo destination for locals, out of town guests, and a special Riverside connection for Koreans visiting the Dosan Ahn Chang-Ho Memorial just across University Avenue. https://www.lovelocksriverside.com Related Articles Introducing Phillip Downie Alexander Phillip Alexander Downie (he/him) is a dedicated human rights advocate, event guru, and local television host and executive producer with over two decades of experience in logistics management and business development.
